Reflections on the Life of a Teacher

 I completed the three days of the "life of a teacher"  successfully with the full support of the teacher.

- In block 1 I did not have a lot of responsibilities like i did in block 2. In block 1 i was still learning  how things are done in the school  and the system that the teacher uses in the classroom. In block 2 i had an idea of what i was doing and what was expected from me by my mentor teacher. 

- The activity that i found most challenging was getting learners to settle down when i had to take the register in the morning as they were too energized in the morning and did not want to settle down.  I overcame this challenge by playing a game with the learners where i would call their names and if they are present they had to shout out a name of an animal or a color. This allowed them to pay attention so that they dont miss their names because with every missed name they loose a point. It worked well because my mentor teacher even adopted the method. 

- On the self- evaluation survey i rate myself higher on the knowing how to communicate effectively in general, as well as in relation to their subject(s), in order to mediate learning. Learners were able to tell me when they did not understand, we had a open communication. 

- I agree with what my mentor teacher said in the comments and i am truly grateful for the guidance she gave me throughout the lessons. 

I got to see learners preparing for market day, making posters as well as preparing the food that they will be selling. It was such a fun experience.
